Seeing a need for personalized and effective settlement of smaller estates, John Gibson established E.E.S. in Montreal under the name Executive Estate Services Ltd.

1968: The Founder of Fee-Only Financial Planning
While settling estates, it became clear to Gibson that intelligent and successful individuals did not always handle their financial affairs to their most profitable advantage. With that, a new avenue of client service was opened to the fledgling company – personal financial planning. In providing objective, experienced, ‘fee only’ financial planning, analysis, counsel and advice to executives in 1968, Gibson became the pioneer of truly objective financial planning in Canada.
1979: New Beginnings
With the emergence of Toronto as the business and financial capital of the country, Gibson relocated his corporate headquarters to Toronto. In keeping with the company’s steady growth as financial planning specialists, offices were maintained in Montreal.
1993: Abbreviated Name, Increased Focus on Financial Planning
To more closely reflect the growing financial planning practice of the company, the Executive Estates Services part of the company’s official name was de-emphasized in favour of E.E.S. Financial Services Ltd. in 1993.
2000: A New Home in The Digital World
With computers dramatically impacting how traditional in-person business might be conducted, the company relocated its headquarters to Markham, Ontario, a growing suburb of Toronto. The new, three-building head office, nestled in a four-and-a-half acre campus-like setting, is ideally poised for continued growth and expansion as they enter the new millennium.
2018: E.E.S. Celebrates 50 Years
E.E.S. Financial Services Ltd. is proud to be embarking on their 50th anniversary, pioneering the past, and shaping the future. Since 1968, they’ve been serving clients with unbiased, objective advice as Canada’s oldest fee-only financial planners.

Our senior consultants hold the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and have financial planning experience ranging from 10 to 40+ years. We have many other professional disciplines in-house such as legal, accounting, Financial Divorce Specialist (FDS) and diplomas under the Quebec Government regulated Institut Quebecois de Planification Financiere (IQPF).

We are strictly educators and communicators of financial concepts and ideas. E.E.S. Holiday Drive
At E.E.S., we pride ourselves on giving back to the community through a number of charitable initiatives. Each year, the staff of E.E.S. shows their support of the holiday season by buying gifts for a less fortunate family through our local church.
E.E.S. & The Markham Stouffville Hospital
Hospitals aren’t normally places for parties, but when John and Diane Gibson contributed their donation to Markham Stouffville Hospital, there were a million reasons to celebrate. In 2008, E.E.S. donated 1 million dollars to the hospital in support of the facility’s expansion and redevelopment.
Sleeping Children Around The World
E.E.S. has been a regular donor and proud participant of the Sleeping Children Around The World program, who have transformed the lives of over 1.5 million children in developing countries by providing a good night’s sleep.
African Deep Water Wells
In 2014 John and Diane Gibson drilled two deep water wells for two small villages in Kenya.
